Combat demands vigilance. Your level of “situational awareness” can mean the difference between life and death. It is essential to get near real-time comprehensive surveillance information from multiple sources, analyze it, and distribute it using secure communications.
EchoStorm has become one of the U.S. military’s most trusted technology contractors by reliably delivering secure, near real-time intelligence surveillance reconnaissance (ISR) video and data to in-theatre troops through a Department of Defense (DoD) portal formerly known as Horizontal Fusion.
In 2003, EchoStorm adapted its technology to build ISRIS (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Information Service) for the U.S. Joint Forces Command. It has defined situational awareness by providing live access to ISR data from Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and included sensor data and images of combatants and their surroundings.
ISRIS compresses near real-time video and sensor data so users can access it via common Web browsers and video software. Now, huge amounts of full-motion video and data are available in an easily referenced archive. This is critical for warfighters who may be in demanding situations without access to large equipment or special technicians.
Proven MAJIIC Prime Contractor
In 2006, the ISRIS video system went through a transition involving the Multi-Sensor Aerospace-Ground Joint ISR Interoperability Coalition (MAJIIC). At that time, the ISRIS video system was promoted from the MAJIIC Advanced Concept Technology Demonstration (ACTD) to a program under the U.S. Joint Forces Command. MAJIIC’s overall objective is to promote interoperability among each member nation’s ISR sensor platforms and ground systems, focusing on net-centric methodologies for sharing and using ISR data. The NATO Command, Control, and Consultation Agency provides technical support to the MAJIIC project.
Nations Participating in MAJIIC
- United Kingdom
- United States
MAJIIC can be configured to link to virtually any U.S. or Coalition Forces ISR Information Service (ISRIS) video sensor platform within the combat network and provide “Post Before Process/Post in Parallel” web-based enterprise video services. EchoStorm remains the prime contractor responsible for meeting the new requirements and rapid deployment needs as approved by the U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense. We earned this role because our solution:
- Is built on service-oriented architecture (SOA)
- Uses Web services and standards-based software
- Easily integrates with legacy systems
- Features multi-platform support
- Enables “Post Before Process”
- Automatically tags and indexes all content
- Provides secure data collection and transfer
- Delivers multiple simultaneous feeds from various sources
- Operates in a neutral digital media format
- Supports existing streaming servers
- Runs on any device that supports Java and Web browsers
EchoStorm technology has not only withstood the rigors of the battlefield and the test of time – it has improved. We put the power of imagination into the hands of the military. Learn more today.
